Add your most important filter first and watch the live result count on the search button. Add one filter at a time so you can see which criterion is doing the cutting. If a search comes back too thin, remove the last filter rather than starting over.Let SkyGPT build the search
If you would rather describe the search than build it, use the Prompt or Job Description box on the Home page. Type something like “CFOs of Series B FinTechs who have taken a company public”, or attach a full job description, and SkyGPT translates it into a filtered search you can then refine by hand.Use current versus past deliberately
Job title and company filters can match Current, Past, or Current Or Past roles. Hiring for a step-up role? Search past experience (“was a VP of Engineering”) rather than current title, and you will find people ready for the next level rather than people already in it.Use Boolean where it counts
The Job Title and Sector filters support Boolean expressions. “CRO OR (Chief Revenue Officer) OR (VP Sales)” in one filter beats three separate searches.Location: exact or expanded
Location filters match a city plus a radius you choose. Turn on Expanded matching to also include people whose location is only known at the state or country level; leave it off when you need people verifiably in the city itself.Save searches by folder
Every search runs inside your active folder (shown in the top bar). Keep one folder per project, and your searches, saved people, and Beacon runs for that engagement stay together. Use Past Searches to re-run anything.Keyboard shortcuts
